What Does Reactive Dog Training Look Like?
First, I help you get relief right away with management and structure tools to stop that feeling of overwhelm!
Next, we will go over your dog’s history, your goals, discuss the prognosis, and create a training plan to give you an idea of what success can look like!
Then, I will address reactive behaviors by teaching how to change how your dog feels about his triggers to develop calm confidence! Alongside that, we will teach him behaviors we want him to do instead.
In addition, I will help you build structure and enrichment to keep your dog’s needs fulfilled so he can reach his full potential!

Transformational Testimonials
“I was able to use the training techniques that I have learned from Ashley to safely and supportively help Bailey experience MORE on our walk. Overall, I could not be more proud of both of us for the progress that I have seen...”
— Briahna
“Mochi used to pull me to the point my shoulder hurt and I would get jerked around. Now the walks are shorter but so much better. She is doing so well. Thank you Ashley for helping us have a better bond and teaching us how to walk together better!! I can’t wait to show Mochi this big beautiful world.”

FAQs

If you have a dog with reactivity, this program might be for you!
Behaviors may include, barking, lunging, freezing, bolting, growling, nipping, biting towards triggers such as people, kids, other dogs, other animals, bikes, or noises. If your dog seems hypervigilant, anxious, unable to relax in new locations or even at home, defensive, or easily spooked, I can help!
If you are unsure if this program is right for your dog, I offer in-person consults which allow me to help determine the best course of action moving forward. Consults are $50 and go towards any program, even if this one isn’t for you! -
I use science-based, fear-free training.
Your dog’s reactivity is a symptom of a larger issue. This could be fear, anxiety, overarousal, overstimulation, breed-specific traits without an outlet, or even medical illness.
Instead of treating the symptoms, I look to resolve the cause. From there, the reactivity is treated alongside it.
You and your dog are individuals, so specific routes may vary, but some of the methods I use are counter conditioning, desensitization, marker training, breed-specific enrichment, relaxation protocol, shaping confidence building games. All done force free with positive reinforcement for building new behaviors. -
Reactivity includes a wide range of spectrum and each dog is different. Reactivity cannot always be “cured” but it can absolutely be reduced.
My goal with this program is to help you reduce your dog’s reactivity, manage triggers, and build a solid foundation to help you and your dog feel safer and more confident! It is unethical to guarantee any results in animal training. But I can guarantee that I will always be honest about the potential outcomes of your specific dog and realistic expectations going forward. If you are unsure what is realistic for your dog, setting up an in-person consultation is a good place to start!

If your dog has a bite history, please set up a discovery call with me so we can discuss safety measures going forward so there are no future incidents.
Please make sure your dog has their rabies vaccination on file. A dog without a current rabies vaccination who bites may be euthanized by the county for testing.
